First game of the season for Taunton CS Mens section, with Toron Everret leading his team out against local rivals Taunton Vale 5's, a dynamic game played in the new Q format allowed for some fantastic hockey - what rain ! ......
Whilst Taunton Vale got out the blocks first, it was a dominant Taunton CS team from the 2nd Q onwards, a slick short corner routine soon had the team level with a trademark Rew finish followed up by a debut goal from Dave Hoaen. The pressure continued into the later quarters, with goals from Oskar Leweke and the captain himself Toron Everret. The fifth team goal following significant pressure and attacking flare, coming from another great short corner routine, the ball despatched low left by Rew for his second of the game.
It was a great team effort based on some solid defending from Adams, Witt, Carter and Nieuwenhuis playing in front of the ever vocal keeper Julian Brown. This gave a great platform for the midfield talent to show the youthful legs and wise heads made up of Wakeling, Rew, Leweke, Hoaen and Jones, allowing the interchanging play upfront through Slade, Sawyer and Daly all lead on the pitch by the controlling quarter time talks of captain Toron Everet - the right back who ended up 2 yards away from the Vale goal to score his well deserved goal.

Final shout out of the day goes to the power forward birthday boy .. Lee Slade - Have a beer on all of us ! (Would have bought you one at the bar, but sadly COVID makes it all too difficult !!)
