'If it isn't not broken... is broken ... no wait ... no it's not broken ... or whatever that saying is' Sage words of advice from Dan Adams.

Following a narrow defeat against table toppers Chard the previous week, Taunton CS A travelled to Bridgwater hoping for better luck. The changes were vast amongst the Taunton CS side with almost a full shift in the back line - Alex 'big swing' Bartram and dropped first team player Jason Harris making their first starts for the team. TCS also welcomed back Jack 'P45' Daly and 'Big' Joe Waddon into the squat after missing out the previous week.

The match started with a new TCS line-up playing a 4-1-4-1 with the aim of making wider play possible and this worked well in the opening half. TCS dominated the running in the first half in a performance 'skipper' Andy Carter described as 'utterly perfect'. The first goal of the game came from a slick short corner routine worked to Jason Harris who smashed in his first of many goals for his new permanent team (Sorry Ali).

The next goal followed shortly after when Conor Neal latched onto a slipped ball from the skipper and found the backboard. TCS were cruising when the third goal - a cross D ball from the skipper - found itself bobbling into the goal unaided. Jason 'ladies man' Harris and Conor 'Suited and booted' Neal bagged their second goals later in the first half broken up by the first goal for TCS of Jack 'P45' Daly and the first goal of the season for 'unbelievably unangry' Dan Adams in a goal described as 'the best ever seen' by skipper Andy.

All of this meant that TCS A went in at half time with a seven goal lead and the drama of the previous week was forgotten. The biggest performance of the half came from DJ Woody who played a pivotal role in a number of the goals by moving and pulling apart the Bridgwater defence playing the extremely difficult role of lone striker very well.

This weeks half time team talk would be described as positive, uplifting and fundamentally damaging to the dynamic of the team. Skipper Andy shifted the formation back to a system that prevented wide play and shut down the attack in the midfield - kindly pointed out by vice skip Dan Adams.

What followed was a frustrating 0-0 half of hockey in which passing failed, controlling the ball failed and striking definitely failed but the defence held strong and in a great display TCS midfield proved that without slower, more senior, more lazy, more...Toron members of the team they were able to track back well and cover the back four.

All in all a much improved performance and a resounding 0 - 7 win meant that TCS A climbed to third in the table just 6 points behind Chard and 3 behind East Devon C. Man of the match went to Jason Harris for his two fine goals and two assists and for bossing the game from the midfield. DOTD this week went to Julian 'Adrian' Brown for turning a 3 minute drive into a 30 minute drive and a sight seeing tour through Bridgwater. A special mention goes to the young players of TCS who are proving to be the backbone of one of the strongest teams in the league - and to Dan for taking his substitution (30 seconds after his goal) in good spirits.

Next week sees ISCA E travelling to Heathfield as third plays fourth (11.30 pushback).
