Taunton CS A welcomed Sidmouth and Ottery D to Heathfield and put out a strong line-up to face them. The game started well for the home side and they quickly took a lead with Jack Daly expertly forcing the ball home at the near post. Bill Horner doubled the lead later in the half with an extremely good reaction touch in the middle of the D. A lapse in concentration at the back gifted Sidmouth and Ottery a route back into the game before the half time break.

After the break both sides came out with a more physical approach leading to a string of short corners. Returning player Jason Harris tucked away a slipped ball and skipper carter knocked in a very similar goal to put the game beyond reach. A firmly driven smash from Sam Woodland took the TCS tally to 5 in superb style. Sidmouth rallied and won a short corner of their own. A well worked routine and an excellent lifted finish led to a tense final ten minutes. The TCS defence tightened and kept Sidmouth to two but as the final whistle sounded TCS earned another short corner and a powerful drag flick from Curtis Bradley finished the game with a bit of style.

A big well done to the team who all had a great game and thanks to James Sewell and Steve Grenfell returning to the side after absence and to Raj Matharu making his debut in goal for the club. Up next for TCS is a tough game against league leading Exeter Uni away from home.
