Nail-biter sealed with last minute controversy !

An early start in Exeter meant Tesco team breakfast for TCS A and with the majority of the team in attendance we are them out of food comfortably. Special mention goes to the 'great white north' Karl Patrick who overlooked his northern roots and settled for a couple of tea cakes, tut mafia would be shocked.

On the road bolstered by returning goalkeeper, Mike 'thumbprint' Whitman, TCS knew they were in for a tough game as matchs away at Isca often are.
Also returning to the side were Joe Johnson, Josh Upham, Julian Brown, Conor Neal and Andy Carter.

Both side were lucky the early morning air was damping the pitch as the water based dream pitch we all had in mind contained the same natural moisture level as Gandhi's sandals.

The match started with plenty of early pressure from the home team and TCS were looking a bit shell shocked. Rare attacks from the visitors gave glimmers of hope but Isca were definitely the stronger side through the first half.

Of note, a few shots, some average tackling, strong defensive play from Isca and a really good young midfielder for the home team. Oh and a ridiculously hit ball for skipper Dan causing a touch of pain for Carter (5 meters away, #aptballpace).

A touch of handbags before the break and a questionable explanation of a rule made for a more tense team talk than was desired but a quick re-jig by Sam Woody Woodland and captain Dan meant the side went out positive.

A nice early goal in the second half came as Carter slapped a free hit into the D unchallenged by the parted Isca defence finding Jamie 'Twiggy' Woodland in a perfect position to tap in in front of the keeper.

Isca quickly restored parity after a short corner routine found space between 'Thumbprint' Whitman and a post which was supposedly guarded by Julian 'Jet-set' Brown.

Tensions flared through the second half as Conor Neal saw green for too much argument and Isca continued to pile on the pressure. TCS A felt the full force of the officials as the play became more physical and both teams searched for a way to break the other down. Neither team knew when to quit and an overturned short corner decision in the TCS defensive D led to a break away on the right flank. A precision pass from the team's green card machine Conor (in the absence of 'the Mexican' Jason Harris) found 'Woody' in space and he surged along the baseline (and at times beyond) finally feeding a pass back to brother 'Twiggy' who tapped through the keeper well to win the game in the dying embers.

Motm went to Twiggy for two well taken goals. Dotd went to skipper Dan for a wildly over hit pass, lack of maths skills, and being 'out of touch' all week.
